Journey

January 26th, 2010 by veilleuxblog

I think with age cultivates wisdom or at least that is how it feels. When we are younger we are always looking for the next thing, the next answer. With age there is a resting place in the not knowing. With the lessons we learn or have to relearn until we figure it out, we know what we won’t accept any longer.

“People can only treat us bad if we let them”, my adaptation of Eleanor Roosevelt’s quote.

The simple fact of the matter is that bad behavior is bad behavior. Weather in our relationships, our families, our friendships and our workplace. The time has come, at least for me, to not allow this in my life.

So, releasing cleanses the soul, or at the very least gives us the strength to reach for the stars. Hope and humor are my armor as I walk in the world. Hope that as we know better we can be better. As the great poet Maya Angelou taught us.

The quest for knowledge, truth and the best in humanity is my journey. I hope at the very least expressed through my art. I trust that when the path gets rocky or splits I will walk into what is to come next.

Share with me, yout thoughts, your wisdom, and your journey.

Joy

January 24th, 2010 by veilleuxblog

As the sun rose this morning casting pink hues on the clouds in visual range, I am struck by a sense of aw, and a feeling of joy. The air is cold and the fire is burning to warm my studio as I prepare to work.

When I am in the studio creating it is the purest sense of joy for me. I am sure I am right there with so many of you other creative souls. I am so grateful for this studio space.

I wonder, what is your place of joy?

I have others for sure, and my goal is to live in joy and reach bliss. This is a challenge living in the times we are in with so much gone wrong. I am in the struggle to survive as well.

Having had to close my gallery several months ago, thus converting the website to my studio site, a huge loss for me on many levels, I am returning to what brings me the most joy, creating.

It is my hope that everyone finds a way to joy.  Especially for the artists, who became friends, I used to represent.
